Platelet-rich Plasma Therapy

Why PRP?

The power to heal and regenerate tissue in all areas of your body actually lies within your own body. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial Rejuvenation is a leading-edge procedure that harnesses the healing power of your own platelets and growth factors from your blood to stimulate a stem cell response. These stem cells help you to grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin, and help slow and reverse the signs of aging. The most common cosmetic conditions for PRP therapy include: fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, lips, forehead or neck, nasolabial folds, acne scarring, crow’s feet and dark circles and puffiness under the eyes, mild collagen and volume loss that has resulted in loose and saggy skin, rosacea and tightening and toning of the skin

PRP is a natural product created from your own body that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. It has been used medically for years to accelerate wound healing; repair tendon, ligament and joint damage; heal diabetic ulcers; and help regrow muscle and bone.

To create PRP, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm and placed in a sterile tube that is spun in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood. Red and white cells are divided from the platelets and the plasma (the clear fluid). This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma; or PRP. Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. When PRP is injected or micro needled into specific areas of the skin, it initiates a localized stem cell response and promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue and thus acts to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. IN this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creates smoother skin texture and tone. Over the weeks and months following treatment, this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts. The fibroblasts replace tissue that has been damaged or lost through the aging process with healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated

Within a few weeks of treatment, an overall improvement in skin hydration, texture and tone can be seen. New collagen and blood vessels begin to grow after three to six weeks, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles and volume correction happens over the next three to six months. The effects of Cosmetic PRP can last 12 months to two years, depending on the individual.

Cosmetic PRP is a simple and safe procedure. The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising that may last three to seven days. Because the PRP is extracted from your own blood, there is no risk of disease transmission, allergic or immune reaction
