Hormone Replacement Therapy

HRT is a good match for anti-aging and cosmetic medicine as well as the key to slowing the diseases of aging while restoring health and vitality thru the use of bio identical hormone replacement.

In fact, you’ve probably heard more about hormones and hormonal imbalances recently – as researchers have become more aware of evidence showing this may be the root cause of many chronic health issues you could be experiencing. We are living longer as a whole and many of us spend more time living our lives out of hormonal balance then we do in balance. For women changes in the ratio of Estrogen to progesterone can indicate serious health concerns such as osteoporosis and some forms of cancer, as well as altering the overall quality of life by causing weight changes, energy level fluctuations, and hot flashes. Men experience a decrease in Testosterone levels as they age which can dictate energy and libido levels, in addition to muscle maintenance and physical appearance.

Now, a simple, yet reliable spit or blood test can identify and determine hormone levels and an individualized treatment plan can be developed to correct these imbalances using safe, natural supplements and lifestyle changes.

Few people understand what hormones are, how they work, or why hormone balance is important for health and optimal wellness.
Hormones are chemicals produced by glands, such as the ovary or the thyroid. They are then secreted by the endocrine glands to regulate the activity of cells and tissues in various organs of the body. Once released into the bloodstream, they have far-reaching effects on other parts of the body. Hormones have many functions, including regulating metabolism, fertility, fluid balance, mood, and blood sugar regulation, to name just a few.

Your hormones should exist in harmony with each other. When levels of each hormone are in the right proportions, body systems are stable, your mind is kept sharp, and your body attractive and you can continue to experience the joys of life. When balance is lost, hormone deficiencies and excesses can cause chronic symptoms and disorders and raise risks for disease such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Informed, healthy lifestyle choices and balanced hormones may help you avoid arthritis, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and some forms of cancer.

Many of the symptoms that women experience in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond are related to an underlying hormonal imbalance. These symptoms include moodiness, depression, anxiety, insomnia, weight gain, fatigue, night sweats, hot flashes, acne, belly fat, low libido, menstrual changes, dry skin, nail changes, memory loss, foggy thinking, feeling cold … the list goes on. However, all too often, these concerns are either dismissed or treated with a medication aimed at alleviating a specific symptom. The symptoms of hormonal shifts in our bodies can be very strong and even make you feel out of control at times.

If you have tried to figure out what is happening or perhaps treated your symptoms in ways that don’t seem to work, testing your hormones may be the first step to feeling better. By identifying and treating an underlying hormone imbalance we can provide you with several options, eliminating unwanted symptoms as well as provide additional health benefits and improve your quality of life!

For your first appointment, you will schedule a blood draw with our certified phelbotomist. This appointment usually lasts 15 minutes. We will send your blood work off to be tested at True Health Diagnostics Lab, which usually takes up to a week to get back.

You will schedule your follow up with our licensed practitioner and receive a 1 hour consult for your blood work.

At this point (if determined medically safe), it will be determined which hormones will best suit you to help treat pre or post menopausal symptoms.

Each 3-4 months your will return for a blood draw to make sure that your bio identical hormones are working properly.

Because we do not bill insurance, we will have you pay an annual upfront fee. A receipt can then be sent in to insurance by the patient  in attempt to be reimbursed by the insurance company.
